William H. Newhouse

NEWHOUSE, WILLIAM H.
of Kalamazoo, MI

William H. Newhouse, age 91, peacefully departed this life for his heavenly home on July 12, 2021. Bill was the youngest child of William and Henrietta (Klimp) Newhouse. He graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High in 1947, served his country during the Korean Conflict in the 6th Army 505 MP Battalion in 1951 and 1952. He retired from Michigan Bell (now AT&T). Bill was an honest, generous man, and had a great sense of humor.

On October 6, 1950 he was united in marriage to Gertrude A. Vander Klok. Together they raised three loving children. Their children and spouses are Raymond and Janet Newhouse, Teri and Mark Hoekstra and Tami Hodges; six grandchildren and their spouses are Chris and Michelle Newhouse, Jamie and Brent Bos, Amanda and Scott Tousa, Brett and Dani Hoekstra, Josh and Nina Hodges, Kendall and Ryan Pipes; and 15 great- grandchildren.

Preceding him in death besides his parents are four siblings Harold, Raymond and Dorothy (infant) Newhouse and Alice DeHaan, and granddaughter Beth Hodges.

In accordance with Bill's wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 20th at Hope Reformed Church (910 Jenks Blvd.) with Pastor Kevin Sanders officiating. A private interment will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South.
