Violet J. Newcomb, 95, passed away June 21, 2021 in Kalamazoo, MI. Violet was born in Chicago, IL on March 31, 1926, to the late Karl and Noma (Bush) Hojda. Violet was united in marriage to Jack Newcomb on August 1, 1946 and was preceded in death by him in 1993. Jack and Jean loved to travel for both work and pleasure. They met many people across the U.S. through Jack's role at Upjohn's. Her pleasure was working in her yard. She enjoyed going to lunch and having tea with her friends. She cared for people and helped those close to her until the end. Her home and yard were immaculate and she was fortunate to find people to support her efforts to accomplish this. Violet is survived by her son, Jon (Sharon) Newcomb; grandchildren, Scott (Maria) Newcomb and Brent (Erin) Newcomb; 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Beth (Dick) Hoffman; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Newcomb; and sister, Marie Jones. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South, 3941 S.
