Tracy King

September 29, 1964 — June 28, 2020

Tracy King, a dedicated Cobbler and long-time resident of Kalamazoo, Michigan, died unexpectedly on the 28th day of June 2020, at the age of 55.

He is survived by his sons, DeRone King and Craig King of Kalamazoo, Trae Jackson of Lansing, daughters Mary King and Raeanna Goedhart both of Kalamazoo, a brother Donald Porter Cain, sisters Gladys Carter, Luedora Porter and Sherri Porter and an uncle Joe Freeman.

Tracy was born in Senatobia, Mississippi on September 29th, 1964 to Mary Porter and the late Clyde Brown. He was raised in Como, Mississippi and later relocated to Kalamazoo, MI and graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1983. He was married to the late Angela Goedhart for more than 20+ years, with whom he welcomed his two youngest children.

Tracy was a devoted father and avid sports fan of wrestling and football. He enjoyed perfecting his Cobbling craft and took pride in his work. He was a member of the Black Small Business Association, a member of the Eastside Association, and a member of Church of God and Christ of Kalamazoo, MI.

Tracy was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Brown; and brothers Mack Freeman, Bruce Porter and James Evins.

A Viewing will take place on Wednesday, July 8th, 2020 from 11am to 12 pm, under the direction of Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Milham Park will be where the family will be gathering after the service.
