Sandra Lee (McMains) McGuire

Sandra Lee McGuire went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, January 21, 2021. She was born April 15, 1936 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Norman and Ruth (Ennis) McMains.

Sandra was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She lived to serve and gives credit to God for her strength to care for others. She was a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and retired from Pharmacia/Upjohn Company after 40 years. She was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church and was currently attending Texas Corners Bible Church.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale McGuire; two sisters, Pauline (Dale) Davidson and Ethel (Lewis) Willard; sister-in-law, Beverly Chase; and son-in-law, Mark Maxson.

She is survived by her two daughters, Ruthann (Steve Smith) Maxson and Linda Clarke of Schoolcraft; five grandchildren, Todd Maxson, Mindy (Josh) Acosta, Julie (Ryan) Kirkbride, Derek (Kristyn) Clarke, and Amber (Colt) Munson; thirteen great-grandchildren, Aaron, Monique, Lucas, Isabelle, Isaac, Eva, Natalie, Colt, Arrianna, Brianna, Mackenzie, Kain, and Keeland; two sisters, Norma Day and Jennifer Weirtz; sister-in-law, Judi Kozminske; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Private services will be held for the family. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Sandra will be laid to rest with her husband at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, August 14 at 11:00am at Westside Church of Christ, 1400 N 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. A luncheon will immediately follow at church.
