Ruth I Doxey

Passed away Sunday evening, March 28, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Ruth was born July 28, 1936 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Clifford and Alice (Brouwer) Buell. Prior to her retirement she was employed for 22 years with Fabri-Kal. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially the grandchildren. Ruth also enjoyed camping, bowling, playing cards and bingo, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time outside in the sun. On August 11, 1956 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, James Doxey, Sr. who preceded her in death on May 29, 2016. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jim Buell; and sister, Shirley Doxey. Ruth is survived by her children, Cindy (Tim) Sharp, Robert (Gloria) Doxey, James Jr. (Peggy) Doxey, Robyn (Rich) Dinse; 10 grandchildren, Dustin (Lainey) Sharp, Dezirae (Jim) Boer, Tim (Betsy) Geddings, Nicole (Dustin) Lindsey, Shannon (Dave) Turk, Amanda (Nate) Demaso, Devon Doxey (Samantha Mattlin), Evan Doxey (Leeann Dunning), Chris (Carrie) Dugan, Kevin (Kaylee) Dugan; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Deanna LaPlante; sisters in law, Shirley, Joann and Marian Doxey; and several nieces and nephews. Private visitation and services will be held at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Entombment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South.
