WELLS, Mrs. Rosemarie
Portage, MI Died Saturday morning November 16, 2013 at the Cass County Medical Care Facility in Cassopolis, Mich., after an extended illness. She was born March 12, 1940, in Argos, Ind. to Claude and Margaret Zehner Jacobs. She married James E. Jim Wells May 27, 1965 in Mishawaka, Ind. She is survived by her three daughters, Pam Eric Boonstra, of Indianapolis, IN, Colleen Brian Trainor of Lake Forest, CA, and Annette McCullin, of Cassopolis, and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, sisters, Wanda White and Barbara Fielding, and brother, Joe Jacobs. Rosemarie was an accomplished artist with skills in every form she tried including painting, drawing and needlework, and was particularly skilled in oil painting, quilting, and calligraphy. She belonged to Pen Dragons Calligraphy Guild of Kalamazoo and enjoyed taking classes and practicing her skills. Her eye for art extended to her home, where she grew beautiful flowers, refinished furniture and could hang wallpaper without any noticeable seam. She was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, a Girl Scout troop leader, and a volunteer reader at Haverhill Elementary School. Rosemarie belonged to St. Catherine of Siena Church in Portage, where she served on the Parish Council, Education Commission, and as a Sunday School teacher. Rosemarie worked in banking in South Bend, Ind., before moving to Portage, where she worked at Tepe's Department store and Hudson's Department store in Portage, and later at Cameron Wilson and Associates and Antoniotti Chiropractic in Kalamazoo. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 o'clock Friday at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 West Centre Ave. Visitation will be 6-8pm Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E.
