Obituary

Age 97 Surrounded by family, Robert (Bob) Dietz, formerly of Wausau, went to his heavenly home to be with the Lord on December 28th, 2022. Bob was born on January 6th, 1925, in Wautoma, WI to Arthur and Carrie Dietz. Immediately after graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served with the 87th Infantry Division during World War II, including time in a German prisoner of war camp. After returning from the war, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin and began a 37-year career with the State of Wisconsin. He was an active member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Rothschild, singing in the choir and serving in a variety of volunteer roles. Bob was a passionate fan of all Wisconsin sports teams, especially his beloved Packers. He found great joy and pride in his family. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty; daughter Linda (David) Kopp of Portage, Michigan; son David (Cindy) Dietz of Gilbert, AZ; grandchildren Justin Kaiser, Jennalee (Mike) Keinath, Haley Dietz, Zach Dietz and John Kopp and great-grandson Ezra Keinath. A memorial service is planned in Wausau this Spring.
