Richard Charles Schiller

Richard "Rick" C. Schiller, age 66 of Kalamazoo, died on July 17, 2021. He was born September 4, 1954, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the oldest child of Richard and Lillian (Dirling) Schiller. Rick grew up in Pittsburgh for 12 years before the family moved to California and he later settled in Michigan. He had a God given gift to work on vehicles and Rick loved being an auto technician. After retiring as a mechanic, he worked in maintenance for McDonald's. On November 9, 1991, Rick went on a blind date with Angela (Hammon) Burkhead and they fell in love. They were married on November 9, 2003. His family also includes his sons: Richard (Kathy) Schiller, Robert (Danielle) Schiller, Joseph (Elizabeth) Schiller, Chris Schiller, and Daniel (Tara) Schiller; his stepsons: Anthony Burkhead and Mitchell (Jessica) Burkhead; his grandchildren: Nathaniel, Allison, and Issaick; his sisters: Charlene Krueger, Marie Ibarra, and Denise Schiller; his brother, David Schiller; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Following Rick's wishes he will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life service will be planned by his family.
