Richard D. Kirk passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, daughter Christine, grandson Caleb, and brother Jeff on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the age of 73. He was born in Kalamazoo, MI on August 9, 1948, to the late Richard and Ruth (McQueen) Kirk. Rick was an Army veteran that served his country during Vietnam. He was a retired Maintenance Mechanic for Kalsec Inc. and was also the president of their union prior to retirement. Rick loved billiards, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, and slow pitch softball which he played on numerous leagues over the years.

Rick is survived by his children, Tim Kirk, Tom Kirk, Ted Kirk, Richard Farleigh, and Christina York; two grandchildren, Caleb York and Hailey York; four siblings, Jackie Knapp, Betty Wyrick, Jeff Kirk, and Nancy Betke. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Barb.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 622 S Burdick St. Kalamazoo, MI 49007 on Monday, May 23, 2022 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. Those desiring may make memorial contributions in Rick's name to the American Heart Association-West Michigan Chapter or Kidney Foundation of Michigan.
