Ralph Moyle

Passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at the age of 89. He was born in Mattawan, MI on July 15, 1932 to the late Norman and Lydia (Buttolph) Moyle. Ralph graduated from Mattawan Consolidated School, class of 1950 and attended Western Michigan University where he studied business. He served in the Army from 1951-53. Ralph owned and operated Ralph Moyle, Inc. As a child on the farm, he tinkered with and drove his father's vehicles, inspiring his lifelong love of trucks. During WWII there was a shortage of men to haul grapes from the area farms to the local Welch's plant. At age 13, sitting on old catalogs and using a block of wood to reach the pedals, Ralph hauled his first load.

By the time he married his wife Marlene Ossenheimer Eberly on October 29, 1965, he had grown his business to hauling grapes for over 70 farms around Mattawan, Lawton, and Paw Paw. He worked long hard hours through the years to grow his business. By the time he began passing it on to his two boys in the early 90's, he had far surpassed what he had dreamed, running 35 trucks and expanding into a 2nd location that included warehousing. In 2017 he was inducted into the Mattawan Consolidated Schools Hall of Honor for his Contributions to Society.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Marlene; children, Karen (Frank) Farthing, Gail (Arch) Mercer, Michael (Sarah) Moyle, and Jonathan (Jennifer) Moyle; grandchildren, Konrad (Christine) Kearcher, Kalen (Ashley) Kearcher, LeeAnn (Kyle) Mercer Messman, Lindsey Mercer, Ashley (Dennis) Moyle Kordish, Brett Moyle, Olivia (Tyler) Moyle Henry, Ryan Moyle, Riley Moyle, Autumn (Mark) Rule Trebilcock, Pirran Rule, and Hamish Rule; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Harry Moyle and Roy (Janice) Moyle. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Norman J. Moyle and Edith (Russel) Boyle.
