Died Wednesday morning July 1, 2020. Paul was born March 11, 1938 in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania a son of Henry and Alice (Werkheiser) VanWhy. Years ago, he served with the Michigan National Guard for years. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1967 and was employed with the State of Michigan for 36 years before retiring. Paul was also a member of Kalamazoo Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, George VanWhy. On June 15, 1957, he was united in marriage to Florence H. (Rode) VanWhy who survives.

Also surviving, 3 children, Vicki (Lyle) Crawford of Portage, Leroy (Donna) VanWhy of Lakeland, FL, and Melody Ledford of Gobles; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Vernon (Becky) VanWhy of South Bend, IN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A private visitation and church service for Paul will be held at the Kalamazoo Baptist Church, 4445 Ravine Rd. Interment will take place at Almena Cemetery.
