Paul "Tim" Hybels

November 3, 1950 — July 22, 2020

Paul Timothy "Tim" Hybels passed away July 22, 2020 after a very brief illness. He was born November 3, 1950 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Edward and Carol (DeKruyter) Hybels.

Tim was a graduate of Kalamazoo Christian Schools and earned his Bachelor's degree at Calvin College in Grand Rapids. He began his working career with his family business, Hybels Produce, where he worked until his father's retirement as the final owner. Tim began his second career in real estate in 1986 as an independent broker, doing business as Hybels Realty Company. Tim was united in marriage to the love of his life and soulmate, Darlene Harris, on September 25, 1987. He cherished life and lived it to the fullest.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Hybels in August of 2003 and Carol (DeKruyter) Hybels in February of 2000, as well as a canine son, Johnny Walker Hybels in 2004.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 33 years, Darlene Hybels; aunt, Jean Borneman of Elkhart, Indiana; brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Cindy) Harris; sister-in-law, Denise (Michael) Foot; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; as well as his Cocker Spaniel daughter, Baylee Bella.

Per Tim's wishes, cremation will take place. Due to COVID-19, no services will be held at this time. A celebration of Tim's life will be held when it is deemed safe for us to come together again.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Tim's memory may be made to Kalamazoo Community Foundation, Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, Bronson Health Foundation, Kalamazoo Christian Schools, or a charity of one's choice.
