Paul H. Dozeman 69, of Kalamazoo passed away, Saturday, November 14, 2020. Born on September 3, 1951 in Kalamazoo to Herman and Virginia Dozeman. United in marriage to Mary on August 1, 1992.

Survived by his wife of 28 years, Mary, brother Gary Dozeman, sisters; Betty (Carl) Williams, Sue (Todd) Meyers, Theresa (David) Moore, children; Gary Hayworth, Frank (Stacy) Hayworth, Kristi (Jon) Uribe, Michelle (Jon) Courtier, Kimberly (Carl) Fox, Debbie (Todd) Gray, and several grandchildren, great grand children, cousins, and friends who may as well be family.

Preceded in death by his parents Herman and Virginia, brother Bill Dozeman, brother Randy Dozeman, sister Mary Gray, sister Barb Guastella, daughter Jody Lawrence, and grandson Carl Fox Jr.

Paul was an amazing person with a servant heart. Paul's life passion was serving his country and his community. He was a bit of a jokester who made his friends and family laugh. Paul was a big fan of the Michigan Wolverines and NASCAR. He loved his wife, his family and his dogs.

Paul served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He was an active member of the Kalamazoo Marine Corps League. Paul's involvement in the Kalamazoo detachment #879 Marine Corps League includes being a member since 2003, serving four times as the Detachment Commandant, and two times as Detachment Marine of the Year. He was very active in all league activities, including Memorial Day parades in Kalamazoo and Portage, Independence Day parade in Schoolcraft, Veterans' Day memorial services, and placement of the flags at Riverside Cemetery for Memorial Day. Paul was in charge of the League's Flag Fundraising for many years, was active in the Marine Corps Birthday Ball celebrations and served as Detachment Veterans Affairs Volunteer Services representative for many years and represented the Detachment at the annual VA patients' carnival. Paul's involvement in VFW Post 5855 includes Post commander for 2 years, active in member interaction and helping with Toys for Tots collection.

Paul was a loving husband, brother, father, grandpa, great grandpa and a great friend to those who knew and loved him. His kind heart and joyous laugh will be missed by many.

Cremation has taken place. Paul will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, Michigan 49012, on Thursday, December 3, 2020. Private services will be held due to COVID-19 restrictions. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation in honor of Paul to: Marine Corps League Kalamazoo Detachment 879.
