Norman Carl Peterson

Norman Carl Peterson age 88, of Portage, passed away on October 5, 2021 at his home. He was born February 25, 1933, in Kalamazoo to the late Carl and Rose (DeDoes) Peterson. Norm retired from National Water Lift Company where he was an engineer. He was married for 39 years to Sandra Kay Ballinger, until her death in 2000.

On August 20, 2005, Norm married Lucille Esther Lounsberry of Gobles, Michigan. During their 16 years of marriage, they enjoyed numerous trips and cruises, including their favorite trip to Alaska.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille; four step-children which include Gary (Marguerite) Lounsberry of Miami, Florida; Debra Trout of St. Johns, Florida; Kevin (Debbie) Lounsberry of Allegan, Michigan; and Brian (Tina) Lounsberry of Gobles, Michigan; along with 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceding Norm in death was a stepson, Ron Trout of Kalamazoo.

A visitation will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 411 E Centre Ave Portage, MI 49002 from 12:00 pm until the service time at 1:00 pm. Entombment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South.
