Nicholas Shane Barber

Nicholas Shane Barber, age 36, died on June 2, 2021. He was born August 5, 1984, in Kalamazoo, the son of Kurtiss Brown and Joy Barber. Nick attended Loy Norrix High School and Wayne State University. His family includes his mom Joy Barber; his sister Molly (David) Meador; his brothers: Jarrod Wetzel-Brown, Connor Wetzel-Brown, Korey Brown (Aaron Morley); his niece Isabella Meador and nephew David Meador; his grandparents: Lois and Jim Richmond and Marie Barber; his girlfriend Jessica Phelps and her children: Christian Easley, Andrew Easley, and Antino Beaver; aunts and uncles, Faith Barber, Leisa Perry, Kevin Brown, Andrew Richmond, and Emilie (Dean) Richmond-Ranzo; and many cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father Kurtiss Brown, his papa Allen Barber, his aunt Hope Shull, and his uncle Ron Perry. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, June 23rd at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, with a memorial service at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Nick to National Suicide Prevention or Quality Behavioral Health Recovery in Detroit.
