Nelva Joan (Kruis) Michmerhuizen

Passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the age of 69. Nelva was born on July 6, 1952, in Edmonton Alberta, Canada to the late John and Gene (Keyzer) Kruis. Nelva married Terry Michmerhuizen on October 16, 1970, in Holland, MI and he survives her. She worked for Bronson Hospital in various positions for over 30 years. She enjoyed music, camping, quilting, cats, and family. She led worship singing in church, sang for special music, and sang in the choir. Now she is singing in the Heavenly Choir to her Savior.

Surviving are her loving husband, Terry; children, Daniel (Edith Cárdenas-Michmerhuizen) Michmerhuizen, Kathy (Kyle) Van Dyne; nine grandchildren, Jonathon Terrance Van Dyne, Jacob Van Dyne, Landon Van Dyne, Lucas Van Dyne, Immanuel Van Dyne, Isaac Van Dyne, Kersten Van Dyne, Mario Michmerhuizen and Mateo Michmerhuizen; brothers, Ronald (Sue) Kruis, John (Barb) Kruis and David (Deb) Kruis; and sister-in-law, Trena Kruis. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Kevin Kruis.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 27th from 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 3926 S. 9th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 28th at 11:00 am at Calvary Bible Church 855 S. Drake Rd. Kalamazoo, MI 49009 with visitation at the church from 10-11am. A committal service will be held 1:00 Monday afternoon, July 25, 2022, in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should be in the cemetery's funeral assembly area by 12:45.
