Of Kalamazoo Myrna Jean Pierce of Kalamazoo passed away peacefully late Friday night March 23, 2012 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Olathe, KS. Myrna had been living in Olathe for the past 3 years with her youngest daughter Kimberly Wilson and her family. Myrna was born Sept. 29, 1930 in Lansing, MI, to Mylo & Mina Stewart who owned Stewart Chevrolet Sales in Eaton Rapids, MI. Myrna graduated from Eaton Rapids High School in 1949. On June 23, 1949 she married Bert Pierce of Three Rivers, MI. and relocated to the Kalamazoo area. Myrna was a loving wife and mother who was totally dedicated to her family. They were her world and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Myrna was mostly a homemaker but worked in her later years for both Montgomery Wards at Maple Hill Mall and Ann's Hallmark Cards. She is preceded in death by her husband Bert who passed away on May 29, 1991. Myrna is survived by 3 children, Carolyn Lonnie Hampton of Otsego, MI., Keith Linda Pierce of Kalamazoo and Kimberly Ken Wilson of Olathe, KS. She also has a half-sister Barbara Lucien of Lansing, MI. Grandchildren are Aaron Emily Pierce of Three Rivers, Phillip Elizabeth Pierce of Grand Rapids, Kara Chris Mitchell and Kayla Wilson of Olathe. She has 1 great-grandchild, Warren in Grand Rapids. Services for Myrna will be Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11am at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street in Oshtemo with the Rev. Tom Tufts presiding. Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Westside Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to Olathe Medical Center Hospice, 30333 West 151st Street, Olathe, KS 66061.
