Kalamazoo Passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2009. She was born May 20, 1956 in Ft. Worth, TX, the daughter of Frank and Ann Brietshadle Smith and had lived in the Kalamazoo area for many years. Melody had worked as a cosmetologist for several years. She was preceded in death by her father. Her survivors include her children, Max and Natalie Schroeder of Kalamazoo; her mother Ann Smith of Detroit; her sister, Patricia DuBay of Sterling Heights, MI; her former husband, Dr. Rudolph Schroeder of Kalamazoo. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 3:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with Rev. James Dyke officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. www.langelands.com 343-1508
