Matthew Stanley Greer passed away peacefully on October 4, 2020 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence after a lifelong fight with progressive epilepsy. He was surrounded by his loved ones during his final days. Matthew was born on September 4, 1986 in Kalamazoo, MI to George and Barbara (Satagaj) Greer. He graduated from Portage Northern High School in 2005. Matthew was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend that enjoyed spending time with his family. He had a heart of gold and an infectious sense of humor. Matthew also enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog Sammy, camping with the Boy Scouts, cheering on the Michigan State University Spartans, riding the fastest and most thrilling roller coasters, listening to music, and anything involving cheesecake.

Matthew is survived by his parents George and Barbara Greer; siblings Jennifer (Jeremy) Alfieri of Portage, MI and Jacquelyn (Armani) Mahoozi of Arlington, VA; nephews Alexander Mahoozi, Sebastian Mahoozi and Nicholas Mahoozi of Arlington, VA; aunts and uncles David (Elizabeth) Satagaj of Cromwell, CT, Cynthia (Richard) Birmingham of Broad Brook, CT, Marjorie (Leonard) Sibley of Hernando, FL; cousins Gregory (Ashley) Satagaj of Berlin, CT and Kelly Satagaj of Cromwell, CT.

In recent years, Matthew resided at Bronson Commons in Mattawan, MI. The family would like to thank the Bronson Commons staff for the excellent care and support provided to Matthew at his home away from home while he battled complications with epilepsy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation (8301 Professional Place West, Suite 230, Landover, MD 20785; https://www.epilepsy.com/).
