Marilyn (Gleason) Schneider

May 11, 1932 — March 24, 2020

Marilyn Schneider, 87, passed away Tuesday morning, March 24, 2020 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born May 11, 1932 in Scotts, MI a daughter of Gail and Catherin (Keith) Gleason. Marilyn was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. Marilyn was a former Gibson Guitar Company employee and retired from General Motors. Over the years Marilyn spent time cooking dinners and making baked goods for the Portage/Schoolcraft Eagles. Marilyn was known for her crafts, baking, one-liners, loud whistle, smiling and making everyone laugh. She enjoyed making arts and crafts with her friend Joanne as well as knitting hats for Bronson Children's Hospital and local elementary schools. Marilyn also enjoyed baking with her daughters, but most of all she loved spending time with her kids. Her children meant the world to her. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; Gail and Catherin (Keith) Gleason, her husband Henry; a brother, Terry Kellam; a son, Raymond Schneider, and grandsons, Derrick Shearer and Justin Stutz. She is survived by three children, Diana (Dave) Grosser, Jerrie Shearer, and Wayne (Tonya) Shearer; a daughter-in-law, Laura Schneider; five grandchildren Dawn (Keith) Mason, Denise (Nate) Welch, Dana (Jim) Clarkson, Jessica (Shawn) Driscoll and Jared Schneider; seven great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Mason, Dani Mason, Emma Welch, Theodore Clarkson, William Clarkson, Justin Driscoll and Norah Driscoll; and three siblings, Nevelyn (Al) Summers, Cheryl Gleason and Toby Gleason. Cremation has taken place. A private interment and graveside service will be held in Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. If desired, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
