Lucinda "Cindy" Derksen, age 67 of Bloomingdale, died at Rose Arbor Hospice Home on August 1, 2022. She was born October 12, 1954, in Plainwell, the daughter of Vivian "Slim" and Crystal (Everhart) Grimm. She was a 1974 graduate of Wayland High School. While her high school sweetheart, Lee Derksen, was home on leave from the service, they attended the Prom and she graduated high school and they were married on June 8, 1974. Cindy returned to Germany with him while he finished his duties, and they began their lives together. Over the years she worked at Copies Plus, Meijer, and Burger King. She was a member of the Centre Avenue Church of God. For many years she was a member of the Plainwell Music Society and was a current member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. Her family includes her husband, Lee; her children: Carrie (Chris) Radtke and Gabriel (Cassandra) Derksen; her grandchildren: Vivian, Carissa, and Lee Bryce; her brothers and sister: Leejeen Sobatta, Lonn (Deb) Grimm, and Dan (Cindy) Grimm; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family will greet friends on Thursday, August 4, 2022, from 6-8 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South Kalamazoo.
