SPIEGEL, KATHRYN
Of Delton Kathryn Elizabeth Vyverman Spiegel, age 64, passed away May 5, 2015 in Battle Creek. Kate was born March 3, 1951 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Arthur and Marian Grenke Vyverman. She was a graduate of WMU and obtained her CPA certification. Kate was a founding partner in Fisher Spiegel Kunkle & Gerber, P.L.L.C. and acting CFO of Trillium Staffing. She was professionally a member of the AICPA, the MACPA and volunteered her services with many community organizations. Kate was also a longtime member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, boating, dancing at Bayview, but the most important part of her life was her family. Kate was married to Kent W. Spiegel in 1979 who preceded her in death in 1990. Surviving are her fiancé of 20 years, Russ Webber; her children, Megan Brodie Johnson, Melissa Ed Schwartz and Matthew Spiegel; three grandchildren, Hayden and Easton Johnson and Alexandra Schwartz; her siblings, Ann Chip DeBoer, Joseph Michelle Vyverman, Rita Dennis Daar, Thomas Marcia Vyverman and Anthony Mary Vyverman; many nieces and nephews; Russ's sons, Scott Webber Brian Rigsbee and Todd Webber; Russ's mother, Irma Webber. She was preceded in death by her parents and by Russ's father Ernest Webber. The family will receive friends from 2:00-8:00 PM Friday, May 8th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. A service to celebrate Kate's life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 9th at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church 114 Minges St, Battle Creek. Interment will follow in Battle Creek Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials in Kate's memory may be directed to the Kambly Living Center or the American Heart Association.
