Joann Phylis Jeu de Vine

Passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 1, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones. Joann was born to the late Clay Nichols and Elizabeth Davis in Detroit, Michigan, on September 6, 1934. After attending college, where she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, she worked for 30 years as a dedicated employee of the Kalamazoo Gazette. Joann was best known by her family, friends and neighbors for her loving devotion, kindness, patience and willingness to help in any way she could. She was an avid animal advocate and could always be found with her adoring dogs by her side. During her quiet moments, she enjoyed a good word search puzzle accompanied by her trademark Neco candies but what most delighted and fulfilled her was spending time with her cherished family. "She was the best mom ever."

Joann is survived by her 3 children Gregg Rollin (Sherri) Jeu de Vine, Kim Kristine Jeu de Vine, and George Henry (Susan) Jeu de Vine III; 7 grandchildren Jessica Rose, Jennifer Jeu de Vine, Maggie Joann Rendell, McClain Jeu de Vine, George Jeu de Vine IV, Garret Jeu de Vine, Niklas Jeu de Vine; and 3 Great-Grandchildren DeAndre Rose, Nyeisha Atchison, and Nolan Rendell.

Preceding her in death were her parents, beloved husband George Henry Jeu de Vine II and her dear sister Mary Jane Reibel Interment will occur at Mount Ever-Rest at a later date.
