Jean Mary (MacVicar) Moore

Jean M. Moore, age 76 of Kalamazoo, died on November 17, 2021. She was born on June 10, 1945, in Port Huron, Michigan, the daughter of Neil and Mary (Ronan) MacVicar. On April 2, 1994, Jean married John W. Moore, Jr. in South Haven. Her immediate family includes her husband, John W.Moore; her children: Amy (Brian) Doxtater, Kimberly (Trey) Warren, and Robert Neil (Leslie) Pohl; and step daughter and son, Carrie Guillot and Tom (Angela) Moore along with 13 beloved grandchildren. Other family members include her brother Neil (Geri) MacVicar, niece Suzanne MacVicar and nephew Scott MacVicar.

Jean received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education from Western Michigan University. She went on to teach elementary age children in the Kalamazoo Public School system for 33 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and teacher. Her warmth and kindness were unparalleled. Her true joy was to spend time with her family. There will be a celebration of her life at a later date.
