Jane Gumpper

Jane Gumpper, age 90, passed away April 9, 2015 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, MI. Jane was born October 1, 1924 in Ft. Wayne, IN, the daughter of Charles and Alice Kiefer Klinefelter and was a longtime Kalamazoo area resident. She received her Bachelor of Science and taught for several years in different school systems. Throughout the years she had been involved with the American Association of University Women and was instrumental in helping found the SLD Center at Trinity Lutheran Church. The most important part of Jane's life was her family, caring for them and supporting them in all their ventures. On April 5, 1947, she was united in marriage to John F. Gumpper, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Susan Gumpper of Milford, John Barbara Gumpper of Kalamazoo, Matthew Gumpper of Kalamazoo and Patrick Elaine Gumpper of Livonia; five grandchildren, John and Ryan Gumpper of Kalamazoo and Laura, Erin and Rachel Gumpper of Livonia. In accordance with Jane's wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2-4 PM Saturday, April 18th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. A private family burial service will be held at a later date in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials in Jane's memory may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest MI; the SLD Center; or a charity of your choice.
