James A. Vanatti, 87 of Scotts, passed away Friday, October 13, 2020 at home. Born on August 30, 1933 in Kalamazoo to Earnest (Etta) Vanatti. United in marriage on October 27, 1973, to Patricia Jewell.
Survived by wife of 47 years, Patricia, sons; Duane Vanatti, David Vanatti, Douglas Vanatti; Thomas (Stacie) Loucks, Debra McDonald, Cheryl Edeus, Terri (Richard) Speece, Karen (Pete) Asakevich, Dawn Loucks, John Loucks and siblings; Blanche Moore and Della Blanchard.
Preceded in death by parents Earnest and Etta, and siblings, Isaac Duane Vanatti, Pearle DeWitt Vanatti and Laura Whitney.
James proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for 35 years as maintenance for service stations all over South West Michigan. He loved to hunt and fish and take his wife, children, and grandchildren with him. James and Pat were active members of Prairie Baptist Church in Scotts, Michigan. James was a very brave man having 3 sons of his own, then marrying Pat and becoming a dad to 7 more children making one big, blended, happy family. James loved hunting and fishing with his boys and the rest of the family. He was the happiest when family was around, especially the "little ones."
Private Visitation and Funeral will be held at Prairie Baptist Church, 11210 PQ Ave Scotts, Michigan, 49088. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Prairie Baptist Church.
