Helen Marie (Maddex) Cox

Passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021. Helen was born on August 27, 1937, to the late Albert Maddex and Mary Couger in Madison, Indiana. After graduating high school, Helen went on to college, where she graduated with an associates degree. Later in life Helen married the love of her life, Al who she spent many loving years with until Al passed in 2019. For most of her working years, Helen was a homemaker which was her real passion. She loved her family more than anything and would do anything for them.

Surviving Helen are her children, Robert (Michelle) Vogel, Shari (Jim) Sweet, Teri Cutler, Rick Ashby, Betty Shammas; grandchildren, Suzanne, Joleen, Charles, Danielle, Sydney, Mersadez, Austin, Michael, Amanda, Josh, Nickole, Rick Jr., Taylor, Randy, Kenny, Harmony, Heather, Mariam, Samira, several great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Preceding her in passing is her parents; husband, Al; son, Jason (Priscilla) Cox; siblings, Lloyd (Judy) Maddex, Raymond Maddex, Ethel Guffey, Nelda Purcell and son-in-law, Roger Cutler.

Friends are welcome to join the family for visitation on Monday, November 22, 2021, from 4pm-7pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 622 South Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49007. A Funeral service will be held at the same location on Tuesday, November 23 at 11am in Helen's honor with a graveside service at Fort Custer National Cemetery to follow at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please direct any memorial contributions to the Dementia Society of America.
