Harry Allen Heath, 95, passed away peacefully in hospice care on February 16, 2021, at Amber Way, Heritage Community of Kalamazoo, with his wife, Nancy, at his side. They had just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on February 10.

He was born on June 30, 1925, in Toledo, Ohio, to George M. and Opal M. (Grady) Heath. He graduated from Macomber Vocational High School, majoring in commercial art. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from Toledo University in 1950. He attended Mechanics School and Boeing Factory School while serving in the Air Force from 1943 to 1946. He achieved the rank of Staff Sargent as a flight engineer on a B-17 bomber.

While in Toledo Harry worked in various manufacturing companies as a designer, detailer and developer of tool and die and stamping machines for the manufacture of products including TV tubes, landing gears for B-47 and B-52 bombers, and bomb cases. He usually was involved with all phases of the businesses. In 1958 he moved to Kalamazoo after the purchase of a company by Cleveland Pneumatic Industries (National Waterlift). He later served as vice president and operations manager of the company he helped form, Power Control Products in Vicksburg, MI. From 1966 until he retired, he was self-employed as a Manufacturer's Representative for various companies that required selling and the installation and instruction of machine tools and accessories.

On February 10, 1951, he married Nancy Jane McDonald. They had three children: Cynthia Ann, Debra Sue and Jeffrey Charles. They moved to Portage Township in 1958 and were active in the community. They were among the original members and very active at St. Michael Lutheran Church. Harry enjoyed woodworking and wood carving, skiing, tennis, camping, sailing, golf, canoeing, oil painting and photography. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada with his father and brother. He and Nancy were volunteers for the USTA Boys' 18 and 16 National Championship Tennis Tournament for many years and he helped Nancy deliver Meals on Wheels. They enjoyed attending Kalamazoo Symphony and Concert Band concerts, going to art shows and traveling. They enjoyed traveling with friends on cruises and to Hilton Head Island. Harry was still taking the yearly trip to ski in Aspen into his 80's. A trip to Europe was the result of a top sales award and later, on an Elderhostel trip, they toured on bicycles along the Danube River through Germany and Austria.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy; three children: Cyndi (Larry) Walter of Minneapolis, MN; Debra (Stephen) Anderson of Hendersonville, NC, and Jeffery Heath of Portage, MI; three grandchildren: Heather (Eric) Maxton of Newnan, GA, Scott (Jackie) Anderson of Fort Mill, SC, and Colin (Jill Mochinski) Walter of Fridley, MN; and five great-grandchildren Lauren and Logan Maxton, Noah and Hannah Anderson and Miles Walter.
