CHAPMAN, Harriet J.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Thursday evening, January 24, 2013 at the Kairos Dwelling. Harriet was born January 6, 1919 in Delton, MI the daughter of the late Harrison and Minnie Boyes Kelly. She was an active member of Sunnyside United Methodist Church; and enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, and camping and in her later years, leisure travel. On August 31, 1940 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Edward C. Chapman who preceded her in death on November 30, 2010. She is survived by her children, Edward Debbie Chapman, Margaret Taylor Ben Brown, Keith Chapman; 2 grandchildren, Jared Allison Taylor and Meghan Hand; 3 great-grandchildren, Reilly, Sydney, and Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held in Riverside Cemetery. A service to celebrate Harriet's life will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 28, at Sunnyside United Methodist Church, 2800 Gull Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sunnyside United Methodist Church, or Kairos Dwelling. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick.
