Eugene Thomas McDonald

Eugene Thomas McDonald, 60, passed away suddenly on December 12th, 2019 at his home. He was born January 16th, 1959 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Robert Emmet McDonald and Mary Jean Jones.

Gene graduated from Gull Lake High School in 1977. After graduating High School he worked for Waco Financial. After his children were born he became a stay at home father and purchased several rental investment properties. He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed hunting, working on cars, wood working, bowling and golf. He dedicated his life to raising his children and taught them how to golf, bowl, fix cars, and remodel houses. He loved passing on his love of coin collecting to his grandchildren.

Gene was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jean Jones; father, Robert Emmet McDonald; grandparents, Thomas and Ruth Cunningham.

He is survived by his children, Melissa (Lee) Jones and David (Megan) McDonald; grandchildren, Alexander Jones, Benjamin Jones and Adilynn Jones; and a sister Cheryl Jones.

A private interment will take place in Yorkville Cemetery at a later date. A celebration of life will be held on January 8th, 2020 at the Lake Doster Clubhouse from 5-7pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family for his Grandchildren's education.
