Climax

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving father and grandfather, Douglas Aaron Fry of Climax, Michigan. He died at age 64 on July 29, 2022. Douglas passed away after a lengthy battle with congestive heart failure.

Douglas was born on December 12, 1957 to Warren and Berna Lee Fry in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Connellsville High School and attended Slippery Rock University, north of Pittsburgh. He worked as a screen printer and shop foreman for Christman Screenprint in Springfield, Michigan until 2022. In high school, he met Debra Warman, whom he later married, before relocating to Battle Creek where they went on to have two children.

Douglas loved caring for his grandchildren. He was an avid fan of film and television, a collector of antique books, a skilled craftsman, and a talented designer and printer.

Douglas was preceded in death by his mother, Berna Lee Fry; his father, Warren Conrad Fry; and his step-mother, Marilyn White Fry. He is survived by his older brother Milton (Tamra); step-brother Frank White; step-brother Jeff White; his ex-wife Debra Mitchell; his son Bretton (Emily Grainger); his son Brandon (Wesley); and his grandchildren, Alistaire and Lilly.

Douglas will be interred next to his mother in Connellsville. The family plans to host a memorial event on a future date to be determined.
