Douglas Ashbaugh

Passed away Friday morning, August 12, 2022 at his home. Doug was born December 13, 1939 in Kalamazoo the son of Kenneth and Dolores (Shultz) Ashbaugh. Prior to his retirement, Doug worked for General Motors as a skilled tradesman and was very proud to have been a long time union officer for the Local 488 UAW. He was an avid Western Michigan University sports fan, especially the basketball teams. He attended most home games and was a member of the Fast Break Club. Doug enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and easily made friends wherever he went. On July 29, 1960 Doug was united in marriage to Shirley (Peck) who preceded him in death on February 20, 2001. He was also preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Mark Osinski. Doug later married Sue Albertson (DeHollander) on May 13, 2002, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Scott (Kim) Ashbaugh, Rick Ashbaugh, Bob (Leslie) Ashbaugh, Vicki Osinski; step-children, Kathy (Bill) McDonald, and John Albertson; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Nancy (Gerry) Donovan.
