Matlock, Dorothy May (Nedervelt), 68, passed away on November 16, 2020 at University Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI after losing her battle with leukemia. She was determined to beat her cancer, and gave it a good fight. Dorothy was a fixture at Borgess Medical Center mentoring generations of nurses. She will be remembered for her love of her family, her strong work ethic and the thousands of baby blankets crocheted for anyone she knew that was expecting. Dorothy was always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.
She is preceded in death by her father, Peter Nedervelt, her mother Dorothy Nedervelt and her son, Robert Matlock III. She is leaving behind her loving husband of 50 years, Robert Matlock Jr., her children Dorrie (Peter) Bell, Christina Matlock, Amanda (Kevin) Niece, and Donny (Tahlia) Matlock. She is also leaving her grandchildren, along with hundreds of band kids, family, and friends. She has left a void that no one can fill.
A celebration of life is being planned at a later date. A private graveside service will be held for Dorothy as she will be laid to rest at Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park South in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
