Dorothy Beeke

Dorothy Beeke, age 101, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at her home. She was born October 12, 1920, in Kalamazoo, MI daughter of the late Dewey and Edith (Simmonds) Cook and had been a lifelong area resident.

Dorothy was a devoted stay at home mother. She had a passion for cleaning and keeping her homes neat and tidy. Dorothy was also an avid swimmer. She enjoyed playing card games with her grandchildren in which she was more victorious than not. After her husband’s retirement they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States together. Every Christmas, Dorothy made the Dutch pastry almond banket which was a special treat for everyone.

On June 17, 1941, Dorothy married Peter Beeke who preceded her in death on December 15, 2017. She was also preceded in death by a sister June Stacey and a grandson, David James Beeke. Dorothy is survived by her children, Beth (Grant) Solomon, David (Randi) Beeke, Peter (Coleen) Beeke, Jr., and Tim (Ronda) Beeke; 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack (Virginia) Cook and Eugene (Barb) Cook; and several nieces and nephews. A private service will be held.
