Passed away unexpectantly Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the age of 71. She was born November 21, 1944 in Kalamazoo to the late Orville and Daisy (Myrick) Bell. Donna was united in marriage to Adrian Smothers on July 27, 1962. She loved her flower garden which she tended yearly. She enjoyed going to Las Vegas and the local casinos. She retired from Battle Creek Harley-Davidson after many years of employment, a job she loved going to each day. She loved riding her Harley-Davidson Sportster and Deluxe but most of all she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donna is survived by her husband, Adrian D. Smothers; son, Scott Smothers; 3 grandchildren, Christine Padula, Angela Block and John Smothers Jr.; 5 great grandchildren, Dominique Hines, James Block, Jr., Hailey Block, Annabelle Block and John Smothers III; and siblings, Raymond Bell and Shirley Jennings. Donna was preceded in death by a son, John Smothers. The family requests that everyone wear casual clothes. Services will be held at 1:15pm Thursday, April 14th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway. Friends may meet the family Thursday the 14th from 11:30am-1:15pm at the Comstock Chapel. Interment will take place following the service at 2:30pm at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
