Donna D. Griffin

Passed away Wednesday afternoon September 8, 2021. Donna was born January 19, 1933 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Ralph and Bulah (Barnum) Grubius. Prior to her retirement she was employed for many years with the Galesburg-Augusta Schools as a bus driver. She enjoyed playing softball, bowling, gardening, and sewing. On September 21, 1962 she was united in marriage to Robert Griffin, who preceded her in death on November 16, 1994. She was also preceded in death by a son, Garth VanKersen; and brother, Jim Grubius. Donna is survived by her sons, George (Susan) VanKersen; Todd VanKersen; Patrick (Julie) Griffin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother and sister, Donald Grubius, Peggy (Barry) Kite; several nieces and nephews; and special friend Judy Lemon. Friends may meet the family from 10:00-11:00am Saturday, September 25 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 where a memorial service will follow at 11:00am. A light lunch will follow the service and interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Galesburg. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
