Dayton Maynard

Passed away Friday, January 7, 2022, in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born on July 31, 1935, in Kalamazoo to the late LeRoy and Margaret (Nicholson) Maynard. Dayton was a production supervisor for WL Molding until 1986 when an industrial accident left him disabled. He proudly served his country in the US Army and was a lifelong faithful member of First Presbyterian Church and served faithfully in numerous administrative roles. He enjoyed being a stagehand for the State Theater and the Kalamazoo Central theatrical department. Dayton also enjoyed photography and sailing his sailboat on Gull Lake. He was a philanthropist at heart and faithful supporter of the Portage Community Center and Portage Public Library. After his disability, he had a daily routine of visiting his friends, shut-ins, and elderly.

He is survived by his cousin, Nancy Schuur Norris; dear friends, Kathy Noble, Richard and Marilyn DeVisser.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church 321 W South St Kalamazoo, MI 49007 at 4:00 pm with Rev. Seth Weeldreyer officiating.
