Darlene passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Friendship Village of Kalamazoo with her loving children by her side. Darlene was born August 9, 1929, the daughter of the late Leo and Thelma (Yax) Cole. On May 23, 1953, she married her devoted husband of sixty- five years, Lynn O. Lohrberg, who pre-deceased Darlene on November 21, 2018.

Darlene was employed by the Kalamazoo County Health Department for over twenty years. Darlene was an avid reader who loved playing card games and watching Jeopardy. She was an enthusiastic fan as she enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in sports throughout the years. Darlene was a dear, kind, special loving mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two children, Michael and Shirley Lohrberg of Kalamazoo and Elaine Wade of Portage; three grandchildren, Nicholas and Jessica Peacock of Vicksburg, Dayna and Mike Woods of Fishers, IN and Kevin Lohrberg of Naperville, IL; two great-grandchildren, Makayla and Josh Cardosa of Three Rivers and Nicholas Peacock, Jr. of Vicksburg; two sisters-in-law, Aileen Greanya of Vicksburg and Glenda and Ed Fouch of Portage; a brother-in-law, Frank Tiefenthal of Kalamazoo, several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters, Beverly Tiefenthal and Marjorie Belanga.

Due to Covid concerns, a private family funeral service to celebrate Darlene's life will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street. A private family interment will take place at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South.
