Clara Mae (Warner) Poloms
July 21, 1930 — June 29, 2019
Clara Mae (Warner) Poloms, 88, passed away at home surrounded by her family on June 29, 2019. She was born July 21, 1930 in Kalamazoo to the late Clarence and Myrtle (Martin) Warner.
Clara married her high school sweetheart, Clare Poloms, on December 1, 1948 and lovingly remained by his side until his passing in 2005. She provided him great support in his lifelong commitment to the Boy Scouts of America. Clara was also a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved nature and travel, including gardening and camping. She enjoyed music and singing, and with her husband, traveled abroad as part of a choir.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Clare Max Poloms and her parents.
She is survived by her children, Lance Poloms, Stephanie (Ron) Schneider, and Jennifer (Marcus) Merideth; grandchildren, Hilary (Chad) Powell and Haili Schneider; great-grandchildren, Baylee and Maycee; and sister, Prudence (Bob) Stack.
A celebration of Clara's life will take place Saturday, July 6 from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Kalamazoo Nature Center, 7000 N Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Assocation.
