Carol was born on January 24, 1938 in Sterling, MI a daughter of Harold and Edna "Eddie" (Young) Nixon. Carol grew up in the Sterling area and was very fond of their family home on Skidway Lake in Ogemaw County. At the ripe old age of 18, Carol met and married the father of her cherished two children. She was collector of quotes, a calligraphy artist, and focused photographer on the intricacies of the evolution of a flower's life. She enjoyed the KIA and was a Kalamazoo Symphony season ticket holder. Carol learned how to prepare classic French cuisines and turned that interest into a gourmet catering business. In the latter part of her working career, Carol worked at MPI from where she retired in 2008. Carol loved her house and garden and found great joy in them her entire life. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Edna (Young) Nixon; a brother, Harold "Nick" Nixon, Jr.; a sister, Betty (Nixon) Tremble; and a son-in-law, Ty Brodhagen.
