Carnell Johnson, Sr. passed away on Sunday, May 2nd, 2021 at Bronson Hospital at the age of 79 years old. He was born in Covington, TN to the late Ben and Lucille Johnson. Carnell was a loving father, caring husband and loved his grand and great-grand kids. He loved traveling back home to Tennessee to visit his family. He will be remembered for his love of listening to blues, barbequing, spending time in his garden and for picking nicknames for all of his kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed coaching and watching his grand kids play sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Levi Johnson, A.D. Johnson, Charles Johnson, Eddie B. Johnson and sisters: Jeanette Udley and Dorothy Alston.

Pete is survived by his wife Lee Ethel Johnson; sister, Charlotte Johnson; children: Sherry Bragg, Deneen Johnson, Gina Johnson, Carnell (Jen) Johnson Jr.; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 8th from 11:30 - 1:30 p.m. at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel 622 S Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. There are Covid-19 restrictions in place: a 25 person maximum indoors at a time and masks and social distancing are required. A private funeral service will be held and cremation will take place. Pete's funeral service will be featured virtually on Zoom, please see the Zoom link and passcode below.
