Carl Matthew Rauch

Carl M. Rauch Jr., 77 of Kalamazoo, passed away on Thursday, April 8,2021. Born in Niles to Carl Sr. and Evelyn Rauch. United in marriage on July 14, 1982 to Ruth Ann Nelson.

Carl is survived by his wife of 38 years Ruth and sons; Matthew (Britney) Rauch and Andrew (Mallorie) Rauch and four grandchildren, Miles, Evan, Irene and Luna. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Kay Rauch.

Carl graduated from Western Michigan University with a Masters Degree in Business. After receiving his MBA he taught Business and Computer Science at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He went on to work at Borgess Hospital in 1983 as Director of Medical Information Services, from which he eventually retired in 2008. Carl was a hard working man, he loved his boys and his family. Very unpretentious, always kindhearted and charitable to others without recognition. He can be described as sarcastic, with a quick wit. Carl loved to watch college football and cheered on both U of M and Michigan State. His greatest joy in life after retiring was watching his son's become parents and watching his grandchildren grow up.
