Bradley Houston Thomas

Bradley H. Thomas (Badly) of Kalamazoo, Michigan went to be with his Lord on September 5, 2021 at Ascension Borgess Hospital. Born February 12, 1954 to Luther and Iris Thomas in Aurora, Illinois, Brad was 67 years old at his passing. Brad celebrated his birthday the whole month of February each year. He still felt cheated because it is the shortest month of the year!

He was preceded in death by his parents; Sisters, Becky Underhile and Anita Ozanour; Brother, Doug Thomas; Foster Dad, Ken Davis; Father and Mother-in-law Eugene and Beverly Harris; Sister-in-laws BeverlyJean Harris and Julia Carr.

Brad is survived by his wife of 45 years Jeanie (Eugenia) Thomas; Son Paul (Terese) Thomas; Grandchildren Serenity, Gavin and Liberty Thomas; Brothers Jim Cash, Bruce (Kathy) Thomas, Sister: Christine Thomas, Brother-in-law Dallas Underhile, Sister-in-law Pat Thomas, Brother-in-law Mehmet Ozanour, Sister-in-laws, Barb (Dave)Armitage, Debi (Greg) Dyben, Brother-in-laws, George and David Harris. Foster mom Rhesa Davis, Foster Sisters Karen Brouse and Kris (Troy) Henry, Foster Brother Kevin Davis, Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Due to Brad's mom and dad's divorce, he was placed in the Foster Care System and ran away from each home he was placed in. However, one family kept coming to the Juvenile Home when he was picked up by the Police and would ask him if he was ready to come home! This family was Ken and Rhesa Davis, from Big Rock, Illinios. Ken and Rhesa were godly and loving Foster Care parents. At the age of 17 (Brad lied about his age), and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After serving three years during the Vietnam era, he got out and began to run with the Hells Disciple Motorcycle Gang. The "Jesus People" met him on the streets of Aurora and presented the Gospel of Jesus to him. Although he was high on drugs at the time, he accepted Jesus as his Savior at the age of 20 and began a discipleship program with the group that led him to the Lord. He met his bride in Aurora, Illinois and began attending her Child Evangelism Fellowship Five Day Bible Clubs she would teach so that he could learn even more about his Savior. He married Jeanie (Eugenia)Harris two years later on May 15,1976. They have one child, Paul Thomas born December 30, 1977. Brad attended one year of Bible College at Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music which is now called Cornerstone University. He went to Bible School and worked a fulltime job at the same time to take care of his family. Brad enlisted in the United States Marines Reserves while going to Bible College and Paul was born. When Paul was almost five, Brad re-enlisted in the United State Marines as an Active-Duty Marine and served a total of 26 years including his Marine Reserves time. The United States Marine Corp was a huge part of Brad's life. But the love of his life was his Savior, Jesus Christ along with his wife and son. The United States Marine Corps moved him all over the United States, and to Okinawa, Japan. He believed it was God moving him to where God wanted him to be so that someone could know Jesus! He always aligned himself to the local church and taught children ministries along with his wife. He taught Awana, Children's Church, Sunday School, Wednesday night children's services, and Vacation Bible Schools. He loved children and wanted to motivate them to learn Bible Verses from memory knowing the Word of God would carry the children throughout their lives and into eternity. Children was his hearts passion. Brad mentored a few teenagers over the years and recently started working as a volunteer with "Youth For Christ" Ministries. He's served on the Deacon Board in a few of the churches God led him to, and helped several single moms and widows over the years with household problems. Brad led several Bible Studies in his home with young Marines wanting to grow deeper in the Word of God. Once he was out of the Marines, he led Small Group Bible Studies in his home for different church groups. Brad's second career after the Marines was Truck Driving. Before his passing, he worked for B&B Trucking hauling the US Mail. He loved doing this and finished strong for his company!

A Service will be held Friday, September 24, 2021 at 11:00am at gracepspring Bible Church located at 8643 Gull Road, Richland, Michigan with Pastor Bryan Tema officiating.
