NELSON, Anne Kalamazoo Passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2007 in Kalamazoo. Mrs. Nelson was born November 20, 1919 in Rockville, IN, the daughter of Bishop and Mildred Farwell Adams, and had lived in the Kalamazoo since 1963. She earned her B.S. degree from MSU and her M.A. from WMU. Mrs. Nelson had a 12 year career with WMU as Counselor and Assistant Director at the Career Planning and Placement Center, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Ladies? Library Association, the Daughters of the American Revolution and also enjoyed reading, playing bridge and golfing. On August 30, 1941, she married Charles E. Nelson, who survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Dianne Robert Carpenter of La Porte, IN and her son, Charles C. Nelson of Half Moon Bay, CA.; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Kiva of Friendship Village, 1400 N. Drake Rd. with Pastor Tom Koning officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Friendship Village Friends Fund.
