Ann Stuurwold

STUURWOLD, Ann Ann Stuurwold, age 94, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, December 31, 2012. Ann was born April 19, 1918, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Milo and Pearl Kuik Stapert. She was a lifelong area resident and was employed for several years with The Upjohn Company. On December 26, 1941, she was united in marriage to John Stuurwold. They were longtime members of Grace Christian Reformed Church and later were founding members of the Free Christian Reformed Church. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, John on August 12, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents and by all of her siblings, Winifred Smith, Trena Walters, Jacob, Ray, Elko, Charles and Dirk Stapert. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John E. and Helene Stuurwold of Kalamazoo; two grandchildren, Rebecca Harriet Stuurwold and Peter John Stuurwold; and numerous nieces and nephews. Private family services at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street and burial in Riverside Cemetery were held. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2013, followed by a Memorial Service to begin at 2:00 PM in the KIVA Room at Friendship Village 1400 N. Drake Rd with Rev. Dr. Harry Arnold officiating. Memorials in Ann's memory may be directed to Providence Christian School or Hospice Care of SW Michigan.
