Wayne ''Curly'' G. Henson

HENSON, Wayne G. ?Curly? Kalamazoo Mr. Henson passed away Friday evening December 8, 2006 at Borgess Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Kalamazoo, he was born December 6, 1924, the son of Harry and Doris Holmes Henson. Wayne graduated as class president from Richland High School in 1942. He was employed by National Water Lift for 40 years until his second retirement in 1994. Wayne enjoyed golfing and bowling and in his spare time he worked on making his yard beautiful. On August 21, 1970, he was united in marriage to Betty Stone in Kalamazoo, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Julie Mike Casey of Kalamazoo, Joy Bob Cox of Parchment, and Todd Rachel Henson of Arizona; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding him in death are his father, Harry Henson, his mother and step-father, Doris and Durelle Upson; and two brothers, Charles Henson and Clark Upson. Services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Borgess Visiting Nurse and Hospice Services.
