Warren W. Haake passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Bronson Hospital. Warren was born on May 30, 1940, in Springfield, Illinois to Rudolph Joseph Haake and Hazel Marie (Rifler) Haake. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1958 and pursued college in Springfield. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1964 and again in 1968. He enlisted in the Illinois Reserves in 1969. He did two tours of duty in Vietnam. Warren graduated in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree from Indiana-Purdue University of Fort Wayne. He pursued work as an insurance adjuster. While at Ohio State University, pursuing graduate school, he met his soon to be wife, Gwendolyn Nagle. They were married in July of 1992 at the Presbyterian Church in Decatur, Michigan, where Gwen grew up. They made their home in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where his wife was teaching at Western Michigan University. Warren was preceded in passing by his parents. Living are his sister, Clair Paulsen (Haake), and nieces, June Stack and Lara House. Also living is his nephew, David Paulsen. All live in the Tampa area. Warren loved to walk and exercise. He also loved to talk to everyone. He was a very upbeat person. Per Warren’s request, cremation will take place and a graveside service with military honors will take place at a later date.
