Virginia B. Miller

Passed away Friday afternoon September 23, 2022, age 92. Virginia was born July 23, 1930 in Morgantown, WV the daughter of Cleophus and Elsie (Bartlett) Swecker. Virginia graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. She raised 4 children, worked on elections, worked as volunteer lighthouse keeper for Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association. She enjoyed traveling in Michigan with her family camping, hiking, swimming, canoeing, bicycling. Walked Mackinaw bridge at age 79. Swam over 15,000 miles at Midland Community Center until age 87. Enjoyed water color painting and sketching landscapes, portraits, cats. Also gardening flowers (roses) and vegetables. Other interest in sewing, knitting, crocheting, crafting. Virginia was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church. On September 21, 1951 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Paul W. Miller, who preceded her in death on September 25, 2006. Virginia was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mary and Katrina. She is survived by her children, Deborah (Gerard ) Wittkowski, Sally (Scott Robinson)Martin, Timothy (Janet) Miller, Cynthia (Dana Farmer) Miller; grandchildren, Rachel (Scott) Sciranko, Paul (Kenna) Wittkowski, Eric, Kara, and Lauren Miller, Erinn and Garrett Farmer; great grandchild, Kenneth Wittkowski.
