Verne M. Webster

WEBSTER, Mrs. Verne M. Of Portage Passed away Wednesday morning, November 8, 2006. Verne was born February 3, 1916 in Paw Paw, MI the daughter of Loren and Neta Deming Smith. Prior to her retirement she was employed with Doubleday Brothers for 26 years. She was a member of Lake Center Bible Church where she had been an active member since 1946. Verne enjoyed reading her Bible which she did faithfully everyday. She also enjoyed going shopping, and going for rides in the car to enjoy the fall colors and the outdoors. On June 8, 1946 she was united in marriage to her loving husband Leon who preceded her in death on October 10, 1986. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her sister, Doris Beach of Paw Paw; several nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Lydia St. Clair and her family. Services will be held 1:00 o?clock Monday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre with Pastor Steve Zerbe of Lake Center Bible Church officiating. Private interment will follow in Boughton Cemetery. Friends may meet the family on Monday from 12-1 at the Portage Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the Lake Center Bible Church.
