Terry Jo Learn, age 74 of Kalamazoo, went to be with his lord and savior on October 27, 2024, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born on December 8, 1949, in Kalamazoo, the son of Gordon and Wilda (Holley) Learn. Terry was a part of the first graduating class in the new Comstock High School in 1968, where he earned his varsity letter in all sports offered. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Law in 1972 from Michigan State University and was an active donating alumni. Terry was a longtime employee of James River. He punched out for the last time at Graphic Packaging on April 30, 2017. Terry was very active with the National Trapper Association where he was a lifetime member. Terry loved spending time with his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In the last few years, he enjoyed his view from his front porch chair watching all the wildlife in his yard with his wife, and enjoying his retirement.
His family includes his wife, Laurel Learn; his children: Joseph (Miranda) Learn and Rachel (Nick) Kemp; his grandchildren: Makaela (Zack Richards) Learn, Taylin Learn, Brayden McNally, Logan McNally, Paul Kemp, Braelynn Kemp, Aislynn McNally, Alexandria Grace Kemp, Robin Jean Kemp, and Perrin Learn; his great-grandchildren: Adalynn, Aiden, Peyton, and Lillian Jo; his big brother Larry Learn; his niece Julie and his nephew Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant brothers Ronald and Donald.
A celebration of life and luncheon will be held on (Saturday, December 7th, 2024, at 10:00 Am to noon) at the Comstock community center, with Pastor Dave Johnson officiating.
